Susan has worked in childcare for 25 years. When moving from San Diego to South Lake Tahoe to spend more time with her children, Jake and Tanner, she began her career working at a home daycare her kids were attending. In addition, she has worked for LTUSD, various preschools, and was the Director at Sierra-at-Tahoe's daycare for 7 years. She has taken all Early Childhood Education classes and continues learning by taking classes that benefit her personal growth.
Susan pursued her dream of opening her own program in 2007. What began as a home daycare for a few kids has turned into a well-known, reputable program serving children ages 4 months to age 6. In 2020, the program has become South Lake Tahoe's first and only outdoor-based learning center that is operated out of her home.
Susan feels that the best part about working with children in a home-based outdoor environment is watching the growth of each child from birth until they attend kindergarten. Both the child and parents become family as they work together for their child to become a life-long learner appreciating nature and our planet.
In her time away from the children, Susan enjoys skiing, hiking, paddle boarding, reading, and camping with her husband Randy and dog (Mountain View Explorers mascot) Maxxis.
